Rustic Sage Green Wedding at Foxtail Barns
On June 27th, 2022, I embarked on a beautiful journey as I said βI doβ to my wonderful husband at the picturesque Foxtail Barns Wedding venue. Today, I want to share not just my clientsβ designs but my own creations from my rustic, sage green wedding.
But before I dive in, I must confess something. When I designed the flowers for my wedding, I was still honing my style and techniques as a professional artificial silk florist. The designs youβll see in this post may not be my best work, but I want to embrace my growth as a florist and celebrate the beauty of this venue and my incredible suppliers.
So, join me as I reminisce about this enchanting rustic venue and how I crafted the perfect sage green rustic wedding at Foxtail Barns.

A Glimpse of the Bride and Groom
Allow me to introduce Tom and me, now happily wed and parents to our mischievous twin boys, Noah and Archie, who were just three years old when our wedding took place. Tom works as a machine operator for a local staircase company, while I wear two hats β one as the owner of a cleaning company called Love Your Home and the other as the creator behind Forever Designs, my luxury artificial silk wedding flower business. Our home is nestled in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
We relish quality time together, indulging in good food, spa weekends at our favourite local spa, and family outings with our twins. For years, I had envisioned a boho, rustic-style wedding, leaning toward a teepee or barn celebration. My passion for designing flowers began back in my college days, so it was always clear that I would design my own wedding flowers.
The Foxtail Barns Choice
Now, letβs talk about Foxtail Barns and why it became our venue. Interestingly, it was Facebook algorithms that led us to this gem. After exploring various local wedding barn venues and, yes, ruling out some due to chair preferences (my bad!), Tom stumbled upon a Facebook ad for Foxtail Barns.
We booked a viewing, although I wish I could say that we walked in and instantly knew it was βthe one.β The reality was different β Foxtail Barns wasnβt even built when we booked in February 2020! We wandered through a small hut with plans and were shown around a muddy construction site by the amazing Sally, one of the wedding coordinators. She painted a vivid picture of what it would become, and somehow, I could see it too. Trusting Sally as if she were an old friend, we booked our date the very next day, paying in full.
A year later, despite pandemic challenges, Foxtail Barns transformed into one of Staffordshireβs most gorgeous wedding venues. Every detail of our day was impeccable, and we owe immense gratitude to the incredible Foxtail team, especially our coordinator, Hannah, who blended in seamlessly as one of our guests.
Flower Choices for the Day
As I mentioned earlier, the flower choices for our day may not fully represent the florist Iβve become today, but I adore waking up to my rustic flowers every morning. My bouquet was a grand affair, featuring abundant foliage, eucalyptus, and one of my favourites, hydrangea.
My lovely bridesmaids carried posy bouquets that complemented my bouquet, perfectly matching their sage green dresses. I crafted single rose buttonholes for the groomsmen and a more intricate one for Tom, adding a touch of charm.
Wrist corsages adorned the mothers of the bride and groom, a sweet and elegant choice. Lastly, my beautiful nieces played the roles of flower girls, their tiny bouquets adding a delightful touch to our celebration.
Acknowledging Our Amazing Suppliers
Rather than just listing the suppliers, I want to emphasise that I wholeheartedly recommend each one. These suppliers went above and beyond, making the wedding planning journey feel like making friends. They played pivotal roles in ensuring our day was perfect:
